Towering 16th century hillside forts still command over the city. Polished precious stones appear from holes-in-the-wall down narrow dusty back alleys. It has beckoned the likes of Kate Winslet and Oprah Winfrey. It has inspired the collections of legendary fashion tycoons near and far. Its otherworldly attractions have stood the test of time for hundreds of thousands of selfies. Whatever you’ve heard about your friend’s friend’s cousin’s sister dropping about three dress sizes is all liesssss! These lip-smacking thalis, fiery curries and warm doughy naan have foodies up-sizing not just their palates. Remain open-minded because whatever reaction the city elicits, it will be a strong one. But by the end of your trip you will have mastered the art of emotional flexibility (with a little help from your yogi) at a level that rivals the tuk-tuks’ skillful swerves around cows on the road.
